KPMG South Africa, which is composed of audit services entity KPMG Incorporated and advisory and tax services entity KPMG Services (Proprietary) Limited, has announced that it will relocate its Johannesburg office from Parktown to Sandton next year. The Johannesburg office is its head office.

The group occupied its leased Parktown office for almost 30 years and the move is the result of a normal property asset transaction between commercial landlords. KPMG stated that the move had no effect on its long-term tenancy, professional service delivery, or local operations.

“Our move to Sandton is more than a change of address,” affirmed KPMG South Africa CEO and Southern Africa Senior Partner Joelene Pierce. “It is an investment for our people, our clients, and the future of our firm. The new office will provide a dynamic environment that fosters collaboration, innovation, and connection while supporting the evolving needs of our business.”

The new office in Sandton was also leased. The group stated that these new premises would showcase its commitment to excellence, connectivity and innovation. The move was also part of its wider vision to establish workplaces that would allow people to thrive and to make a difference that was meaningful.

“While we are excited about this next chapter, we are equally proud of our history in Parktown, where generations of KPMG professionals have built their careers,” she highlighted. “As we look ahead, we remain firmly committed to our people, our clients, and the communities in which we operate, while continuing to create lasting value across South Africa.”

The current offices, at KPMG Crescent, will remain completely operational until the move occurs. That is scheduled for May next year. The group will issue updates as the project advances.

KPMG has been active in South Africa for more than 125 years. It currently had 144 partners and 2 381 employees. It also has offices in Cape Town, Durban and Gqeberha, and provides services to a number of industries across all nine of the country’s provinces. The two local entities are both part of the KPMG global organisation, made up of independent member companies affiliated with the UK-based KPMG International Limited.
